Waste water plant house leaned before inauguration

Waste water purification house for an amount of Taka 6.5 crore, meant for discharging the waste water of Mobarakganj sugar mills limited at Kaliganj in Jhenaidah had leaned before inauguration. Locals fear that if it remains untreated, accident could occur any moment. 

Concern persons have expressed their opinion that use of low and sub standard construction materials was liable for the pitiable condition of the plant. Officials  of Bangladesh sugar and food industries corporation (BSFIC) authorities are saying that they will reconstruct the house in the next year, while the local authorities said they could not provide any information as they were not involved with the work any way. 

According to a source, the BSFIC had constructed waste water purification house for 14 sugar mills throughout the country at a cost of Taka 84 crore through a project of the ministry of industry when it got passed by the executive committee of national economic council (ECNEC). The construction work of Mobarakganj sugar mills limited was a part of the total project which costs Taka 6.5 crore. 

Sources said the work was completed a few months back and it was waiting to be inaugurated at any moment. But the waste water Purification house started leaning in last few days leaving the workers and employees of the mills in panic.

When contacted Raqibur Rahman Khan, managing director of Mobarakganj sugar mills limited said he had informed the mater of leaning of the house to their higher authorities in Dhaka after visiting the site. 

As the authorities did not inform him about the project, he was not in a position to provide any information. 

Shahidul Karim, project director of waste water purification house project when contacted, admitted the leaning of the house. He said they will construct a new house for Mobarakganj sugar mills limited. The leaned house will not affect anything or anyone.
