Presidium Member of Bangladesh Awami League (AL) and Mayor of Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC) AHM Khariuzzaman Liton said, “Boat means development, Boat means welfare of the people. Development is visible everywhere now under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina”.
“To continue the ongoing development of the country, vote for the Boat symbol. People are living in peace by casting their votes for Boat symbol and they will live in more peace by casting votes in favour of Boat in the upcoming elections,” the mayor added.
The RCC mayor was addressing a projection meeting at the playground of Mohanpur Girls' High School as the chief guest on Tuesday. The meeting was a part his election campaign. Mr Khairuzzaman Liton is contesting as Awami League candidate for for Rajshahi-3 (Paba-Mohanpur) constituency.
AHM Khairuzzaman Liton further said, “We had expressed the hope that BNP will participate in the elections. Our party president Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and general secretary Obaidul Quader called upon the BNP time and again to take part in the JS polls but they did not pay any heed to their calls. The elections must be held to uphold the Constitution and the Election Commission (EC) had announced the schedules of the elections accordingly. The elections will be held on January 7 and people will cast votes in groups, standing in the rows like they cast votes during the City Corporation elections.”
Presided over by the president of Mohanpur Upazila Jubo League Iqbal Hossain, the meeting was addressed, among others, by AL nominated candidate from Rajshahi-3 (Paba-Mohanpur) constituency Asaduzzaman Asad, President of Rajshahi City unit of AL valiant Freedom Fighter Mohammad Ali Kamal, Law Afffairs Secretary Advocate Mosabbirul Islam, former Publicity Secretary Kamruzzaman, Member Habibur Rahman Babu, dist AL Joint Secretary Mostafizur Rahman Manzal, Roksana Mahbuba, AL Mohila AL President and the Secretary Marjina Parvin and Advocate Nasrin Akter Mita respectively, Mohanpur AL Secretary Mofizuddin Kabiraj, Kesorhat Municipality Mayor Shahiduzzaman Shahid, former President of Rajshahi city Jubo League Ramjan Ali, Faisal Ahmed Runu while the meeting was conducted by General Secretary of Mohanpur Jubo League Shahin Shah.
