.Bangladesh ODI pace bowler Rubel Hossain and uncapped T20 specialist Shamim Hossain failed to travel to Zimbabwe with their respective squads due to visa issues. A large number of ODI and T20I squad members are currently involved against Zimbabwe in the one-off Test match at Harare while the remaining members left for Zimbabwe respectively on July 8 and 9.

Bangladesh Cricket Board’s cricket operation chairman Akram Khan confirmed the development to Cricbuzz on Friday adding that they are hopeful of flying them to Zimbabwe as soon as possible.

“Lot of flights have been cancelled in the recent past so we didn’t want to take any risk and decided to send them as quickly as possible,” said Akram. “Rubel and Shamim could not join their team mates due to visa complications but we are confident that we can send them soon and they will be available for the upcoming ODIs and T20Is against Zimbabwe.”

The BCB officials also confirmed that the ODI squad members were all tested negative for Covid-19 upon arrival in Zimbabwe.

After completing the ongoing Test, the tourists are scheduled to play a warm-up fixture on July 14 - two days ahead of the ODI series. The ODIs are scheduled on July 16, 18 and 20 in Harare, while the three T20Is will be played on July 23, 25 and 27 at the same venue.
