Indian Assistant High Commissioner Dr Rajeev Ranjan has urged not to provide any false information and fake documents in obtaining Indian visa. He also said that those who catch brokers and provide fake documents will be blacklisted.
He said this at a function organized at the Indian Assistant High Commissioner's office in Khulshi in the city on Thursday evening on the occasion of Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) Day.
Indian Assistant High Commissioner said, 'We issue visas through our main mission in Dhaka and Assistant High Commissions in Chittagong, Rajshahi, Khulna and Sylhet. But in Chittagong we have been receiving complaints of some irregularities in the visa process recently. The Indian Visa Application Centers are managed by the State Bank of India.
Their work is limited to the collection of applications and delivery of passports to visa applicants. But they have no role in visa application, document verification and visa issuance process. Only the office of the Assistant High Commissioner has the power to issue visas.
He said that the suffering of visa applicants in Chittagong has come to our notice due to inadequate infrastructure and lack of sufficient manpower. We are very concerned about this. We are also planning to move the visa application center to a larger scale and to hire more manpower.
The Assistant High Commissioner said, "In most cases, they charge a lot of money to fill the application form of the visa aspirants and attach fake documents. In this case, we need the cooperation of visa applicants. I would say to the visa aspirants, do not complete the visa application process through local agents. Fake documents not only harm you financially, but also deny you a visa. Also, repeatedly submitting the same application with fake documents may get you blacklisted. Those who try to get visa with fake documents one or more times, we have started the process of storing all their information including name and address in the database. We have decided to set up a complaint-advice box in front of the visa centre. Apart from this, an e-mail address of the office of the Assistant High Commission will be given, where the applicant can inform about his complaint. '
Dr. Rajeev Ranjan said, 'Come to me for any information or assistance regarding your visa. I seek your cooperation to build a fair, transparent and robust visa process and provide the best service to Bangladeshis. We can never succeed without everyone's cooperation.
