Human chain with the slogan “Stop continued violence to women, killing and rape of them” was held in Rajbari to protest the ongoing violence against women, killing and rape of them and, to protest against the murder of Neela Roy of Savar, rape of a disabled tribal girl in Khagrachhari and gang rape of a housewife at Sylhet MC College.
The Rajbari district unit of Bangladesh Mahila Parishad held this human chain program in front of Rajbari Press Club on Sunday, September 27 at 11 am.
Mahila Parishad Rajbari District Branch President Laili Nahar presided over the program while District Council Chairman Fakir Abdul Jabbar, Mahila Parishad District Branch General Secretary Sabita Chandra, Member Shahina Sultana, Udichi District Branch Vice President Azizul Hasan Khoka, Member Abdul Jabbar spoke on the occasion., Teacher Golam Charoyar, journalist Jahangir Hossain, retired teacher Golam Mostafa Chowdhury Rontu, former district student union leader Prajenjit Roy and others were present.
Speakers at the human chain urged the government to take effective steps to stop social violence and rape against women.
