‘Violence against women, children to be prevent at any cost’

Police in Jhenaidha will standagainst all odds like violation, child marriage, eve-teasing, rape, suicide and women and child abuse at any cost. They will also stand against the drug that is destroying the young generation day by day. 

Jhenaidah’s Superintendent of Police (SP) Muntasirul Islam made the remarks at a views-exchange meeting and inauguration ceremony of the beat policing office at Ganna union parishad in Jhenidah Sadar upazila on Tuesday. 

Additional SP (Sadar circle) Abul Bashar and Jhenidah Sadar Police Station Officer-In-Charge (OC) Mijanur Rahman were present as special guests. Presided over by Ganna union parishad chairman Nasir Uddin Malita, local elected representatives, teachers and students participated in the programme.

SP Islam said, with an aim to building a safe society with beat policing at people’s doorsteps, police is no longer master of the people, rather simply service provider ensuring safety and security of the common people as their real friends.

Following increasing of some violence activities throughout the country, he said, the government of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina had declared war against violence on women and children. The miscreants involved in this sort of crimes, might not be rescued anyway as directed by the inspector general of police (IGP).

The police boss further said the existing law of the country will act equally for all irrespective of cast, creed, gender and political identity for a safer society. He advised the police men discharge duties with responsibility as desired by the common people when the country was liberated upon from the clutch of the autocratic Pakistani rulers against lives and chastity of lakhs of heroic sons and our proud mothers and sisters.

He advised the law enforcers to stand by the common people as they were hit hard following the global pandemic corona virus since March this year. Not punishment, while love and cordial service could ensure peace and happiness to them, SP Islam added.
