Muscular build, messy long hair, a full beard, and fiery eyes—this is no ordinary Vicky Kaushal! The Bollywood actor stunned everyone with his first look in the mythological film Mahavatar directed by Amar Kaushik. Set to release next Christmas, Vicky will be seen playing the role of the immortal Parshuram.
After several successful horror films, Dinesh Vijan’s Madock Films is venturing into the world of mythological cinema. According to Hindustan Times, shooting for the film is set to begin this month. The story will blend ancient mythology with modern-day elements.
The production company shared two images on social media, accompanied by a short video clip. In the first image, Vicky is seen in a fierce Rudra-like avatar, with long hair and a beard. In the second image, he is shown from behind, dressed in a dhoti, wearing a jata on his head, and adorned with rudraksha beads on his arms, head, and hands. At first glance, he appears to embody Lord Shiva’s Rudra form, though the production company confirmed that the character is actually Chiranjeevi Parshuram.
Mahavatar will be Vicky’s second collaboration with Madock Films, following the period drama Chaba. The movie is scheduled for release on December 6, where Vicky will portray Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, the son of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. The film also stars Rashmika Mandanna and Akshay Khanna and is directed by Laxman Utekar.
Apart from these films, Vicky Kaushal is also set to appear in Love and War, directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, alongside Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor. The official announcement for this project was made in January 2024. Vicky was last seen in the film Bad News, alongside Tripti Dimri and Amy Virk.
