The mobile court fined Tk 2 lakh 10 thousand to Vertex Container Depot in Kathgarh area of the city for having petrol pump without license and fire extinguishing system.
The operation was conducted at the depot located in Kathgarh area of Patenga police station of the city on Monday afternoon. Chattogram District Administration Executive Magistrate Prateek Dutta led the operation.
District Administration, Explosives Directorate and Fire Service operate mobile court at container depot called Vertex Offdock Logistics in Kathgarh area under Patenga police station of Chattogram city. Meanwhile, the company was found operating a petrol pump without a license. The depot did not have adequate fire fighting system. There was no fire safety plan and fire hydrant. Despite running the depot for 22 years, the depot authorities have not taken any measures to approve or implement the fire safety plan. Sheikh Md. Moazzem Hossain, the senior manager of the depot, was fined Tk 2 lakh 10 thousand for these allegations.
