The second VAT fair is starting today (February 10) in Chattogram to popularize online VAT registration, VAT return submission and EFD. The two-day VAT fair will be held at 8 divisional offices under the Customs Excise and VAT Commissionerate Chattogram.
The offices are Customs Excise and VAT Agrabad, Chattala, Chandgaon, Rangamati, Khagrachhari, Patiya, Cox's Bazar and Bandarban divisions.
VAT Commissioner Mohammad Akbar Hossain gave the information at a press conference at the beach conference room of the VAT office in Agrabad on Tuesday afternoon.
He said, ‘this organizing the fair for the first time, we have received a huge response from taxpayers and traders. The main purpose of the fair is to facilitate traders so that they do not have to accept any form of harassment in accepting VAT registration or filing returns online and to facilitate trade.
Joint Commissioner Md. Mushfiqur Rahman, Mohammad Selim Sheikh, Deputy Commissioner Md. Shahinur Kabir Pavel, Kamnashish, Sushant Pal, Md. Saeed Ahmed Rubel, Muhammad Chaidul Alam, Md. Ahsan Ullah, Assistant Commissioner Anurupa Dev, HM Kabir, SM Sarafat Hossain and others were present at the press conference.
