Mayor of Chattogram City Corporation (CCC) Md. Rezaul Karim Chowdhury has said that the BNP, whose morale is broken because of various conspiracies, is now destroying the mural of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
He made this comment during a human chain and protest rally against the vandalism of the mural of Bangabandhu and documents of the Liberation War. Chattogram city Awami Swechasebak League arranged the protest rally on the Press Club premises in the port city on Thursday.
Chattogram city Swechasebak League President Debashish Nath Debu presided over the rally, while General Secretary Azizur Rahman Aziz moderated it.
CCC Mayor Md Rezaul Karim Chowdhury said that the defeated communal evil forces of the 1971 vandalized the mural of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and documents of the Liberation War as part of destabilizing the country.
The way the people of Bangladesh defeated the anti-national evil forces that suffered revenge for the development of the country at the behest of foreign masters in 2024 will not be an exception in 2024.
In the name of democratic movement, the politics of arson, burning people, and the politics of vandalizing public and private property in Chattogram, the people of Chattogram will do hateful terrorist activities. Will resist with hands.
The CCC mayor strongly condemned the incident and demanded exemplary punishment for those involved.
City Swechasebak League Vice President Sujid Das, Delwar Hossain Farhad, Manowar Jahan Moni, Azad Khan Abhi, Abdur Rashid Lokman, Joint General Secretary Mohammad Saifuddin, Organizing Secretary Mohammad Masud Khan, DebashishArchayya, and Publicity Secretary Tosaddek Noor Chowdhury Tapu also spoke on the occasion.
