Chattogram City Corporation (CCC) Mayor Rezaul Karim Chowdhury said, the feeling of victory is always happy. But at the same time the day is also painful especially for those who have lost relatives. Our freedom is the product of countless sacrifices. On this Victory Day, the development progress of Bangladesh should be further advanced by severing the web of conspiracies by being energized by the spirit of the liberation war. The values gained through the liberation war must be protected.
He said this while speaking as the chief guest at a day-long program organized by the Chattogram City Corporation at the parade ground adjacent to the Chattogram Government College on Friday morning.

CCC Mayor said, Bangladesh is an independent universal and sovereign state achieved in the liberation war. The essence of the nation will be nationalism, democracy, socialism and secularism. By resisting militancy, terrorism, fanaticism, fundamentalism and drugs, this country has turned again in the heart of the world. The goal of the current government is to root out those evil forces and ascend to the golden peak of development and prosperity.
The Victory Day program included wreath laying at the Shaheed Minar at CCC Municipal Model School and College premises at sunrise, wreath laying at the portrait of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, CCC School College students, teachers, staff gathering, recitation of the Holy Quran, national Flag Hoisting, Parade and Salutation, Student Display and Vote of Thanks by Acting Chief Executive Officer and Secretary Khaled Mahmood.
