Vaccination activities stopped in Cox’s Bazar

Vaccination activities at Cox's Bazar Sadar Hospital have been closed since Monday. Cox's Bazar Sadar Hospital authorities hung the notice outside the vaccination center for an indefinite period.

Residential Medical Officer of Sadar Hospital in charge of the center Nowshed Riyadh said the center has been declared closed as the allocation from the Civil Surgeon's Office has run out.

Earlier, vaccination activities in 8 upazilas of Cox's Bazar were phased out. Only in Pekua Upazila there are 3 vials of vaccine which will end tomorrow. As a result, 23,000 people who received the first dose of the vaccine were deprived of the second dose.

Cox's Bazar District Civil Surgeon. Mahbubur Rahman said Corona's vaccination activities have been suspended due to depletion of vaccine allotted for Cox's Bazar. Vaccination activities will be resumed after the new vaccine arrives. 69,691 people received the first dose of the Oxford-Astragene vaccine in the district. 56,626 people received the second dose of vaccine. About 23,174 people did not get the second dose of vaccine.

All those who received the first dose of the vaccine in Cox's Bazar were vaccinated against Indian astragenera.

Simultaneous vaccination activities were started in the district on February 7. The second dose of vaccine started on April 8.
