India emerged the champions of the Bangabandhu CAVA International Beach Volleyball Men’s title when Uzbekistan women crowned the women’s trophy of the championship defeating their respective opponents in the final on Friday at Cox’s Bazar at the Dolphin Beach.
India defeated Maldives men’s team in the hard contest final by straight 2-0 games when Uzbekistan women outplayed their India counterparts in the thrilling final by same margin (2-0).
India (Team 1), who won the men’s title, defeated Maldives in the final by 21-10, 21-17 sets (2-0) when they moved into final after defeating Kyrgyzstan.
In the Women’s competition Uzbekistan defeated the India women by 21-18 and 211-18 set (2-0) to become champions.
Meanwhile, Bangladesh women team suffered defeat to their Indian counterpart in the third place deciding match.
A huge number of crowds enjoyed the tournament throughout opening day to final and the closing ceremony.
The final matches and the closing ceremony of the three-day event was concluded on Friday with Nazrul Islam, additional secretary of the Ministry for Youth and Sports distributed the prizes among the winners as chief guest with Mohammed SanaulHaque joint secretary of the sports ministry was present as the special guest. Muhammed Shahin Imran DC and the district magistrate, Zillur Rahman Police Super Tourist Police of Cox’s Bazar, Ashiqur Rahman Miku general secretary of the Bangladesh Volleyball Federation were present in the occasion among others.
