Uttara Edge BKSP in Low Scoring Thriller

Relegation League contenders Bangla desh Krira Shikkha Protisthan (BKSP) and Uttara Sporting Club’s fight to avoid demotion started with BKSP’s continuing poor performance which ended in their 1- wicket defeat even after Uttara’s own batting collapse later.

At Fatullah, BKSP won the toss and chose to bat. But they completely wasted the opportunity, losing 4 wickets within 30 runs. But second-down Aminul (59) alone was steadfast against the Uttara bowling machine. First, he goes on defense with Akbar (26), and after him with Sadman (25). Aminul Sadman's pair at sixth wicket added 55 runs, but then BKSP lost them in quick succession. After that, BKSP was all out within 10 runs. No other batsmen except opener Fahad reached double digits. The biggest killer of BKSP was Abdur Rashid with an amazing 9.4-2- 18-5.

In response, Uttara started as worse as BKSP with four wickets before fifty. But like Aminul, third-down Manan (52) took the baton to victory. Although Uttara kept losing wicket, the run train couldn’t be stopped by BKSP bowlers. Abdul Gaffar (21) was also instrumental as he left unbeaten before reaching the team at the end.

Uttara pacer Tanzim resembles Abur Rashid in his impressive spell 10-1-36-4, but it went in vain at the end. Abdur Rashid was adjudged as Man of the Match. With this lose, BKSP is now relegated from DPL. Meanwhile, Uttara is at top with 8 points.
