US House of Representatives member meets Bangladesh consul general

Member of United States House of Representatives Grace Meng on Friday meet Consul General of Bangladesh Consulate General Sadia Faizunnesa at her Flashing office in Queens District of New York, reports BSS. During the meeting Sadia apprised Meng about the ‘Mujib Year’ for the celebration of the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and said the process is underway for setting up a “Bangla Corner” at the Queens Public Library marking the ‘Mujib Year’, according to a message received Saturday.

Briefing about Bangladesh’s development since its emergence, the consul general also informed that the country has already become a role model for development in the world under the dynamic leadership of Bangabandhu’s daughter Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Meng was impressed after hearing the development stories of Bangladesh and congratulated the consul general for taking the initiative of setting up “Bangla Corner” at the Queens Public Library.

Sadia thanked Meng for her cooperation to the Bangladeshi-Americans living in the US and called for continuing the cooperation. She invited the member of the US House of Representatives to visit Bangladesh. Meng assured the consul general of working together for the welfare of the Bangladeshi-Americans and visiting Bangladesh.
