US envoy visits Tungipara, pays tribute to Bangabandhu

US Ambassador in Bangladesh Earl R. Miller paid rich tribute to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman by placing wreath at his grave at Tungipara in Gopalganj on Thursday. Later, he sought eternal peace and salvation for the departed souls of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and his family members.

Miller’s wife, high officials of US embassy in Dhaka, officials of foreign ministry, Kazi Shahidul Islam, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Gopalganj, Md Aslam Khan, Police Super of Gopalganj, Md Nakib Hasan Tarafder, Upazila Nirbahi Officer of Tungipara, Md Solaiman Biswas, Tungipara upazila chairman, Ahmed Hossen Mirza, Tungipara municipal mayor, Sheikh Tozammel Haque Tutul, president of Tungipara municipal Awami League and many others were present there at the time.

Earl R. Miller signed visitor’s book at Bangabandhu Bhaban there. After visiting the grave, the US Ambassador talked to the journalists. He said that he felt proud after visiting the graveyard of Bangabandu.
