US Embassy in Dhaka offers fellowship for teachers

Bangladeshi secondary school teachers have the opportunity to apply for the American Centre Fulbright Teaching Excellence and Achievement (TAE) fellowship programme at the US Embassy in Dhaka. 

The programme, which spans six weeks, aims to enhance teaching skills and subject-specific knowledge. 

It will take place in either January or September 2025, and applications are open until Saturday, March 30, 2025.

Implemented by IREX, a non-profit organisation based in Washington, DC, the Fulbright TAE programme is sponsored by the US Department of State's Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs. 

Selected teachers will undergo intensive training in teaching methods, lesson planning, and the use of technology in education. 

Additionally, participants will spend two weeks in a US secondary school for hands-on experience with American teachers and students.

Eligible applicants must be current full-time secondary school teachers with at least 

five years of teaching experience.

 According to officials, they hould hold a bachelor's degree and possess strong English language skills. Financial benefits include assistance with visas, airfare, accommodation, insurance, and a professional development allowance.

To apply, candidates must complete the online application and meet all programme 

requirements, including possessing a valid Bangladeshi passport and demonstrating proficiency in written and spoken English.
