UP election vote held in festive mood

Peaceful voting was held on Wednesday in the fifth phase of the ongoing Union Parishad (UP) elections. Polling was held continuously from 8 am to 4 pm amid tight security of various law enforcement agencies. According to the district election office, the election was held in a festive atmosphere in 65 unions of the division on Wednesday. Except for one or two isolated incidents, no untoward incident was reported during the voting.

In the morning, various polling stations were visited, voters came to cast their votes ignoring the winter. Although the turnout was low in the morning, voter turnout continued to rise as the day progressed. The presence of women can be noticed among the long line voters.

Police, RAB, BGB and Ansar members are responsible for controlling the law and order situation surrounding the election. In addition, the Striking Force led by the Executive Magistrate is on duty.
