UP chairman takes charge after HC bail

High Court granted bail and dismissal to Korban Ali Sardar, chairman of Dhalarchar Union and president of Dhalarchar Union Awami League in Bera upazila of Pabna. 

According to the suspension order, Korban Ali Sardar took over the charge of the Union Parishad again on Thursday at afternoon.

On this occasion, he took charge at the office of Dhalarchar Union (Badher Haat) in the presence of all the UP members of the council and the leaders of Awami League on Thursday afternoon. During this time, he first exchanged views with all the UP members and later with the leaders of the Awami League.

The meeting was attended by Bera Municipal Mayor Alhaj Abdul Baten, Upazila Awami League General Secretary and Upazila Parishad Chairman Abdul Quader, Masumdia and Rooppur Union Awami League President Md Shahidul Islam Shahid, Nurul Islam Mollah, UP members Abdul Razzak and Rafiq, Abdul Aziz Sardar Lutfar Rahman, Habib Mridha and female member Rokeya Khatun.

UP member, leaders and UP chairman Korban Ali said, “The Dhalarchar Union Parishad office was located in a remote char area and in a terrorist-infested area. 

I protested against the extortion, rape and land grabbing activities of the terrorists, so they sent the RAB-12 to the dam market with false information in order to satisfy the interests of the chairman of an insidious group in the area. 229 sacks of rice were confiscated and I was detained from the office of the councilor and I was suspended from the post of chairman and party post.”

The High Court ordered him to be released on bail and suspended and he re-assumed charge of the Dhalarchar Union Parishad on the basis of the 7th order of dismissal, said Korban Ali.

It may be mentioned that on the night of April 13, RAB-12 Pabna raided the warehouse of the chairman and confiscated 229 sacks of rice and detained Chairman Korban Ali Sardar. He was sent to Pabna jail through Aminpur police station.
