Locals of Boalmari upazila in Faridpur accused of Dadpur UP chairman of cutting down government trees. However, UP chairman Md Mosharraf Hossain said that the allegation of cutting down trees was a conspiracy of the opposition against him.
Md. Bashar Sheikh of Dadpur village of the union said, “I told the chairman to cut down the dead trees in the Dadpur area of the Moindia-Kanaipur (LGD) road of the upazila before the ‘Amphan’ storm but he did not listen to us.”
Babul Mia, a businessman from Dadpur village, complained that the chairman had secretly cut down and sold government trees on the union roads several times.
However, this time when he was going to sell the trees to the traders, the locals caught him and informed the local administration. When the locals informed the administration about the matter, they confiscated it and kept those trees in front of the Union Parishad.
