UNO evicts secret cattle market in Thakurgaon

Haripur upazila administration evicted a secret cattle market set disobeying government ban, on Kathaldangi Women's College ground in Haripur upazila of Thakurgaon on Tuesday.

The traders left the market immediately after Haripur Upazila Executive Officer Abdul Karim physically appeared at 11 am on Tuesday and ordered them to leave the market within 5 minutes.

It is learned that all types of cattle markets have been banned in the district due to the Corona epidemic. Haripur Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Abdul Karim physically appeared and raided the market and instructed the vendors to leave the market within 5 minutes. Otherwise, each vendor would be fined individually and the lessee would be fined.

In this situation, the animal sellers, seeing that the situation was strange, left the market with the animal.

In this regard, the leaseholder principal of Kathaldangi Hat Riazul Islam said, as per the government instructions, the sale of animals in Kathaldangi market is closed. They quickly left for their respective homes.

In this regard, Upazila Nirbahi Officer Abdul Karim said, "After receiving the news that the cattle market has been set up in Kathaldangi Bazar disobeying the government instructions, I arrived there at around 11 pm and when the cattle buyers and sellers were instructed to leave quickly, they quickly left the spot."
