‘United efforts a must for child-friendly nation’

State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid said that we must work unitedly to build a safe and child-friendly Bangladesh. We are committed to preventing the premature death of any child.

He said these things in the virtual discussion meeting organized by the Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources on the occasion of 'Sheikh Russell Day' on Tuesday (October 18).

The state minister said, "In 1975, the killer gang wanted to stun Bangladesh by killing Bangabandhu's family." The killers showed their ruthlessness and viciousness by killing 10-year-old Russell. The plot of Kuchkrimahal is still going on. They don't want Bangladesh, they don't want the development of Bangladesh. They must be resisted collectively. Strengthening Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's hand, Vision 2041 must be implemented with determination and contribution from every position.

The state minister recounted his personal memories with Sheikh Russell and said that due to his closeness with the family of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu, he used to visit the house number 32 Dhanmondi as a child. He recalled playing sports together with Russell as a child. On Tuesday morning, the Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources laid wreaths at the portrait of Sheikh Russell at Vidyut Bhawan on the occasion of Sheikh Russell Day.

Under the chairmanship of Senior Secretary of Energy and Mineral Resources Department, Mahbub Hossain, Additional Secretary of Power Department. Nizam Uddin, Chairman of BPC ABM Azad, Chairman of Petrobangla Nazmul Ahsan, Chairman of PDB. Mahbubur Rahman and Director General of Power Cell Mohammad Hossain addressed the meeting through virtual connection.
