Faridpur Deputy Commissioner (DC) Atul Sarkar crossing the Padma River distributed warm clothes among 400 underprivileged children of North Channel Union under Faridpur Sadar Upazila on Friday afternoon.
The Children were very happy to get worm clothes from the Deputy Commissioner, which they chose themselves. Deputy Commissioner Atul Sarkar was the chief guest of the distribution programme organized by district administration at North Channel Government Primary School premises.
Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md. Masum Raza presided over the event while Additional Deputy Commissioner Roksana Rahman and Assistant Commissioner (Land) Shah Md. Sajib attended. At the time, Divisional Forest Officer Enamul Haque, District Relief Officer Saidur Rahman, North Channel Union Parishad Chairman Mostakur Rahman Mustaq and North Channel Union AL unit’s President Mofazzel Hossain spoke among others.
The DC said that the present government is taking massive initiatives to improve the quality of life for the people of Char areas. He also said Faridpur district administration has taken huge initiatives for the region in the wake of the Mujib Barsho.
