Under present govt, radical change comes in Dhaka WASA

Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Minister Tajul Islam on Sunday said that under the current government, there was a radical change in the management of Dhaka WASA.

Tajul Islam came up with the statement as a chief guest at Dhaka WASA ‘Bill Collection Award FY 2022-2023’ ceremony held at Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel in the capital, said a press release.

In his speech, he said that the construction of five sewage treatment plants around the capital has already been undertaken to bring the capital under 100 per cent sewage service.

Water is being supplied through High Density Poly Ethylene pipes in modern district metered area system by replacing the old dilapidated pipelines of Dhaka city. As a result, the quality of supplied water is improving, he said.

Local Government Division Secretary Mohammad Ibrahim, Finance Division Secretary DR. Mohammad Khairuzzaman Majumdar, Dhaka WASA Board Chairman Professor Dr. Sujit Kumar Bala were present as special guests with Dhaka WASA Managing Director and CEO Engineer Taqsim A khan in the chair.
