A young man and his nephew were killed in a head-on collision between a pickup and a motorcycle in Faridpur's Boalmari upazila on Tuesday.
The accident took place around 6:30 am on the Mazkandi-Bhatiapara regional highway in Billahuri area of the upazila.
The deceased were Imran Sheikh, 29, son of Muhammad Sheikh, and Naeem Sheikh, 24, son of Ziaur Rahman Sheikh, residents of Char Hatkhola village in Maina union of the upazila.
According to police and locals, the two were going to Dhaka riding on a motorcycle early in the morning. When they reached in that area, a pick-up van coming from the opposite direction collided with their motorcycle. They died on the spot.
Boalmari Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Shahidul Islam confirmed the news.
