A mobile court raided an unauthorized acid production factory in Jashore on Thursday afternoon and fined the owner of the company Mamun-ur-Rashid Tk 200,000 and sentenced him to jail for one year for producing, storing and marketing unauthorized products.
The bench clerk to the Magistrate of the mobile court Md.Jalaluddin said the Mobile court came to know that an organization called MR Enterprise in Kismat Nawapara area of Jashore Sadar upazila was making and storing acid products like Vixel, Hand Sanitizer etc. without approval from the authority. Then led by Executive Magistrate of Mobile court Kazi Atiqur Rahman fined the owner of the company Mamun-ur-Rashid under sections 37, 43, 50 and 53 of the Consumer Rights Protection Act 2009 for manufacturing and marketing products without the approval of BSTI.
Mobile court sources said, the owner of the company Mamun-ur-Rashid used to produce these products under the open sky and without any chemist. Mobile court also banned producing these products without the permission from the district administration.
Officials from the drug administration, Consumer Rights Directorate, RAB and police were present during the operation.
