A call to establish justice and truth in society through religious values and morality was made at the "Ulama-Mashayekh Conference 2025" held in Thakurgaon.

The conference, organized by Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami for the Thakurgaon-01 constituency, took place on Saturday (November 8) at the Salandar Islamia Kamil Madrasha Eidgah Maidan, starting at 10:00 AM.

The chief guest was Delawar Hossain, a nominee for Member of Parliament from Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, a member of the party's Central Shura Council, and the former Central President of Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Shibir. The keynote speaker was Md. Shameem Saeedi, son of the late Shahid Allama Delawar Hossain Saeedi (Rh.) and Principal of Darul Quran Siddiqiya Kamil Madrasha, Khulna.

Other notable attendees included Thakurgaon District Ameer Professor Belal Uddin Principal, District Secretary and former Vice-Chairman Mohammad Alamgir, and President of the Ulama Department, Thakurgaon, Alhaj Maulana Fazle Rabbi Murtazabi.

Delawar Hossain stated, "We have been oppressed for 54 years. This time, we aim to come to state power and establish Islamic principles to build a future Bangladesh as a nation of Islam, and a future Thakurgaon that is safe and free from corruption and extortion." He called upon all religious scholars to work together, asserting, "If we can work together, no one can stop our progress and our victory." He further promised, "If you support me and vote me into office, I will work for the scholars. Insha'Allah, the scholars will no longer be oppressed or persecuted."

In his keynote address, Md. Shameem Saeedi argued that voting for the "Scale" symbol (Jamaat-e-Islami's electoral symbol) is not just a virtuous act, but a vote to end corruption and nepotism. He claimed that if anyone from Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami is elected as an MP, they would not take any government plots or cars, but would instead ensure that all facilities and opportunities reach the people in full measure.

"Not only our two ministers in the past, but none of our 18 MPs, nor any of the MPs we have had since independence, have ever been tainted by allegations of corruption," Saeedi said. He urged everyone to support Jamaat-e-Islami and vote for the "Scale" to build a corruption-free country and establish a just and fair society based on Islamic governance.

The conference was presided over by Principal Kafil Uddin Ahmad, Assistant Secretary of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, Thakurgaon, and the In-charge of Thakurgaon-01 constituency.

Speakers at the event unanimously emphasized that to restore peace and stability in society, a return to the ideals of the Quran and Sunnah is essential. They asserted that only an Islamic-based society can re-establish the foundations of justice, honesty, and humanity in the country.

From the morning, the Salandar Islamia Kamil Madrasha Eidgah Maidan was filled with scholars, students, and devout citizens who had arrived from various parts of Thakurgaon. The entire event was marked by religious fervor and a unique atmosphere of unity.
