Director of Legal Services and Company Secretary of Associated British Foods Paul Lister and Director of the Simon Project, UK Dr Javier called on Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor (VC) Professor Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman on Saturday at the latter’s office of the university.
Pro-VC of Bangladesh Open University Professor Dr Khondokar Mokaddem Hossain and Director of the Institute of Disaster Management and Vulnerability Studies of DU Professor Dr Mahbuba Nasreen were present on this occasion.
During the meeting they discussed various issues including development of RMG sector in Bangladesh. They stressed the need for reduction of risk in the working places of workers. They also discussed the possibilities of expansion of ongoing research program on Risk Reduction and Skills Development in RMG factories being conducted by the Institute of Disaster Management and Vulnerability Studies of DU with the financial assistance from UK.
