A four-member delegation from UK and Sweden called on Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman on Thursday at the latter’s office of the university. The members of delegation were Professor Dr Peter Sundin of Uppsala University, Professor Dr Charlotta Turner and Dr Margareta Sandahl of Lund University, Sweden and Professor Dr Marcel Jaspars of University of Aberdeen, UK Professor Dr Nilufar Nahar, Professor Dr Md Iqbal Rouf Mamun and Professor Dr Mohammad Shoeb of DU Chemistry Department were present on this occasion.
During the meeting they stressed the need for creating public awareness about food, health and environment to achieve Sustainable Development Goals.
They discussed the possibilities of undertaking joint collaborative academic and research programmes on these issues among DU, different universities in UK and Sweden. They have agreed to sign a MoU soon in this regard.
Earlier, UK and Swedish Professors delivered lectures in an international seminar on “Food, Health and Environment” at Mukarram Hussain Khundker Biggan Bhaban of DU.
