Dr Md. Sajjad Hossain, member of Bangladesh University Grants Commission (UGC) and Convener of UGC’s Mujib Birth Centenary Celebration Committee, paid homage to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at Tungipara in Tungipara.
Two newly appointed member of the UGC Prof Md. Abu Taher and Prof Biswajit Chandra were also present at the time.
They paid homage by placing a wreath at the grave of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at about 11:00 am on Friday.
He also took part in a special prayer seeking eternal peace for the departed souls of Bangabandhu and the martyrs of August 15, 1975 carnage.
Dr Ferdous Zaman, secretary (Additional Charge), Dr Shamsul Arefin, director of Public Relations and Right to Information Division, Md Kamal Hossain, director of Public University Management Division, Md Omar Faruque, director (Current Charge) of Research Support and Publication Division and Bishnu Mallick, member secretary of Bangabandhu Birth Centenary Celebration Committee, UGC were present at the time, among others.
