A Dhaka court on Sunday sentenced two people to death for killing a woman and her daughter in Dhaka’s Kadamtali area in 2010.
Dhaka Additional Metropolitan and Sessions Judge Nargis Islam handed down the punishment.
The condemned convicts are Md Al Amin and Md Miraz Molla. Both were fined Tk 20,000 each.
Another accused, Nurul Alam, was sent to Juvenile court.
According to the prosecution, Yeasmin Alam and her daughter Irina Alam Tanha were strangled to death by the convicts on May 8, 2010 over a family feud.
Monir Hossain, brother of Yasmin, filed the case with Kadamtali Police Station.
On August 31, 2010, police submitted a chargesheet against three people.
