Two people were stabbed to death by their rivals in broad daylight at Fatulla and Rupganj areas in Narayanganj early on Wednesday. The deceased were identified as Sharif Matbar, 27, son of Alal Matbar of Adarshanagar area of Kashipur union under Fatulla police station, and Aobinash, 55, son of Pran kumar of Porabo village under Rupganj police station.
Sharif’s father Alal Matbar told the media that a terrorist, extortionist and drug-peddlers comprised gang headed by Shakil along with 10-15 equipped with long sharp weapon stabbed his son mercilessly in front of his house in the early hours.
Locals rushed to the spot and rescued Sharif. He was sent to Narayanganj General Hospital where the on duty doctors declared him dead. On information, police rushed to the spot. Later, police arrested a youth named Milon, son of Shahabuddin of the same area, in this connection.
Alal Matbar filled a murder case with Fatulla police accusing 11 in named and unnamed 3-4 others. The case investigator also inspector (investigation) of Fatulla police station Shahadat Hossain told the Bangladesh Post that police keep continuing raid to capture the criminal within short time.
On the other hand, Aobinash Kumar was hacked to death by the rival who also are his cousin and cousin's associate. Quoting locals police said that a land dispute had been prevailing between Aobinash and Arjun Sarkar and thus a several time committed clash between two groups previously. Aobinash got out from his house on Wednesday and walking on road as morning exercise and then his rivals 7-8 suddenly attacked with sharp weapon and chopped him indiscriminately.
Locals rescued him and sent to Rupganj Upazila Health Complex. He was referred to Dhaka Medical College Hospital. He succumbed to his injuries at DMCH. Officer-in-Charge of Rupganj police station Mahamudul Hasan said that they are investigating the matter.
