Two siblings were stabbed to death and another was critically injured allegedly by their uncle and cousin at Kachpur area at Sonargaon in Narayanganj on Sunday (February 26).
The deceased were identified as Aslam Sani and his younger brother Shafiqul Islam Rony, sons of Sanaullah of Panchpara area in Kanchpur union.
The injured is Rafiqul Islam, another brother of the victims. On Sunday noon, Aslam and his brothers locked into an altercation with his uncle Mohiuddin and his son Mostafa over the renovation work of a drain in front of their house, Nayeem, a relative of the deceased, said. At one stage, Mohiuddin and his son Mostafa along with some others attacked Aslam and his brothers with lethal weapons, leaving them critically injured.
Locals rescued the injured and rushed them to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) where Aslam and his younger brother Shafiqul succumbed to their injuries around 2:30pm, said Inspector Bachchu Mia, in-charge of DMCH police outpost.
On information, police visited the spot, said Ahsanullah, inspector (Investigation) of Sonargaon police station.
Police are investigating the matter, he added.
