Two schoolboys injured in juvenile gang attack in Savar. 4 held

Two schoolboys were injured in an attack by a juvenile gang in Savar Sunday night. Police have detained four individuals in connection with the incident.

The injured Jisan Pramanik, 15, son of local journalist Matiur Rahman Bhandari, and his classmate Siam Raja, 15, were admitted to Enam Medical in Savar.The incident took place in front of Savar Radio Colony School next to Dhaka-Aricha highway around 8:00 pm said police. Jisan is a ninth grader at Savar BPATC Public School and College and Siam is a ninth grade student of Waz Ali School in Kalma area.

Jisan's father Matiur Rahman said about a month ago, the BPATC school had their school excursion at Safari Park in Gazipur.

At that time, there was an altercation between Jisan Pramanik and Abdul Latif, a tenth-grade student, on the bus. Later, the matter was temporarily settled with the intervention of the teachers present.

 He said Jisan went to Radio Colony area with his friend Siam Raza after Iftar this evening after getting a phone call from a senior.At that time, a group of 20 to 25 members of the so-called "juvenile Gang" attacked and injured them with sharp weapons.

Sabir Hossen, administrator of Enam Medical College Hospital, said that on Saturday night around 9 pm, the two injured teenagers were brought to the hospital. Jisan suffered deep wounds in two places on his back from the sharp weapon, and Siyam sustained a deep wound on his abdomen. They are receiving treatment.

Officer-in-Charge Akbar Ali Khan of Savar Model Police Station said that upon learning about the incident, the police launched an operation and detained four youths. zisan's father Matiur Rahman has filed a case at the police station regarding the incident.
