A Dhaka court on Wednesday placed bus driver Md Sabuj, 25, and his helper Md Nahid, 19, on two-day remand each in a case lodged over throwing a speech-impaired woman from a moving bus in Keraniganj, Dhaka.
Dhaka Senior Judicial Magistrate Fairus Tasnim passed the order as police produced the duo before the court and pleaded to place them on seven-day remand each.
Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-10 arrested the two in the morning of March 9. The burkha-clad woman was thrown off from the moving bus of N Mullick Paribahan in the morning of March 7 as she was unable to pay the fare. A
video of the incident surfaced online, where the poor woman was seen lying on the ground and groaning in pain. Later, she wrote down her ordeal on a piece of tiles, revealing the whole incident.
