Two people were killed as a Dhaka-bound train hit their motorcycle at Jagtha area under Pirganj upazila of Thakurgaon on Monday morning.

Sohrab Hossain Sujan, assistant station master of Pirganj Railway Station, confirmed the matter. He said that the motorcycle was crossing through an unauthorised crossing point at Jagtha village around 10:00 am when the Dhaka-bound Drutojan Express coming from Panchagarh hit it. The two motorcyclists died on the spot.

Ruhul Amin and Sobhan were going to Pirganj to serve a court notice when the accident happened, said sources at Thakurgaon Judge Court. Following the accident, train communication between Panchagarh and Dinajpur remained suspended for some hours.
