Two new Coronavirus patients were detected in Nawabganj Upazila of Dhaka, raising the total number of confirmed cases to five in the upazila.
Both of them returned from Dhaka and Ghazipur to Nawabganj at the beginning of the month, Upajilla Health Complex Officer Dr Shahidul Islam said on Thursday. Hearing the news of both man developed the symptoms of Covid-19, officers collected the sample and sent those to Dhaka for testing, he added.
Dr Shahidul said that the patients would be admitted to a hospital following the Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research’s instructions. Their families have been ordered to go under home quarantine, he added.
The district administration will ensure home quarantine for the families along with their neighboring families, said HM Salauddin Manju, upazila NIrbahi officer of Nawabganj.
