Two killed in Magura road crash

A passenger bus overturned in Pajakhola area of Magura-Narail road on Tuesday morning, killing two people named Golam Nabi (65) and Babu Biswas (45) while, 25 others were injured.

Abul Hossain of Pajakhola village and others said that the high speed passenger bus travelling from Gangarampur to Magura reached Pajakhola area of Sadar upazila at around 11 am while, it lost control. 

The uncontrolled bus first hit a closed shop. Within moments, the shop twisted and the bus hit a tree and overturned on the side of the road. Bus passengers Golam Nabi and Babu Biswas were killed on the spot while, at least 25 people were injured.

Deceased Babu Biswas, was going to Parla area of Magura town to attend the janaza of his elder brother Baku Biswas’s father-in-law Sattar Khan. On the other hand, deceased Ghulam Nabi was going to Magura to attend the janaza of a close relative in Kamarkhali area of Faridpur.

Magura Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Manjur Alam confirmed the information.

said 15 of the injured were admitted to Magura 250-bed Sadar Hospital. Another 10 injured people had returned home with first aid at the same hospital. The bus driver is absconding and the bus was seized.
