Two people were killed in a head-on collision between a bus and a CNG-run auto-rickshaw in Hathazari Upazila of Chattogram on Saturday.
The victims were passengers of the auto-rickshaw. The deceased were identified as Abdul Motaleb Tuku, 70, resident of Dhalai Union of Hathazari and Md Abshar, 55, resident of Farhadabad Union of the Upazila.
Sources said the accident took place on Chattogram-Khagrachari regional highway at Muhurihat Battal area under Mirzapur Union of Hathazari in the district at around 12:30pm. Nazirhat Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mofiz Uddin Bhuiyan said that a Chattogram-bound bus collided head-on with a CNG-run auto-rickshaw. Two passengers of the auto-rickshaw died on the spot. The injured were discharged after primary treatment at a local hospital. After the incident, the driver left the bus and fled the scene.
