Two killed in capital’s road crash

­Two people, including a woman, were killed in two separate road accidents in the capital on Sunday morning.

A female garment worker Ayesha Akhter, 20, daughter of Mosharraf Mia of Charbunia village in Patuakhali Sadar upazila, was killed and her husband Khairul Islam, 25, was injured after a cement-laden cargo truck and a bus collided in Zero Point area of the capital around 6:15 am.

Md Bachchu Mia, in-charge of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMHC) Police Outpost, said that the injured brought to the emergency ward of the hospital where the doctor declared Ayesha dead.

In another incident, a man named Abdul Wadud, 58, resident of Burichang Thana area of Cumilla district, was killed after being hit by a speedy train while crossing the railway line in Malibagh Railgate area of the capital around 7:30 am.

According to the police, Wadud was crashed under the wheels of train while he was crossing the the rail track and suffered serious injuries. 

Locals rushed him to DMCH emergency ward where doctor declared him dead.

The bodies of the deceased have been kept at the mortuary of the emergency department of DMCH for autopsy.
