Two women were killed and ten others were injured in a gas explosion of a house at LalKha area under Fatulla police station in narayanganj district in the early hours on Friday.
The deceased were identified as Maya Rani, and Monagoli Rani, tenants of the house. Police and locals saidthat an explosion occurred at the ground floor at ofMosharaf Mia’s five storey building around 6 am. Five rooms of the ground floor were totally damaged.
Deputy Director of Narayanganj fire service and civil defense Abdullah Al Arefin said that the explosion might have been caused by a gas leakage in the kitchen. Mustain Billah, Deputy Commissioner of Narayanganj said that a ten-memberprobe body was formed to investigate the matter. Among the injured, six were sent to the burn unit of Dhaka Medical College Hospital and the rest were admitted at Victoria hospital Narayanganj.
