In Madaripur, a passenger bus and a pickup truck collided head-on. The pickup driver and helper were killed on the spot while another was being treated. The road accident took place at Rajoir in Madaripur this morning.
According to the highway police and locals, the bus collided head-on with a pickup truck loaded with mangoes at Rajoir Alamdastar in Madaripur on the Dhaka-Barisal highway this morning. The bus fled the scene immediately after the accident. The driver of the pickup was killed on the spot. After declaring the helper and others to be taken to Rajoir Health Center, the doctor declared the helper dead. Another 5 people are being treated. The deceased was identified as Saddam Hussein, 35, son of Reich Uddin of Gaoguria village in Naogaon district. The deceased was identified as Khairul Islam, 45, son of late Sirajul Islam of Saraikandi village in Naogaon district. At the time of the incident, traffic jams were created on both sides of the Dhaka-Barisal highway.
Upon receiving the news, Mostafapur Highway and Rajoir Police and Fire Service came to the spot and recovered the body and cleared the highway.
