Police have detained two alleged drug traders and seized 1500 pieces contraband yaba pills while trafficking from Dhaka to Ishwardi at the Rooppur Moor, near  the crossing of Lalon Shah Bridge under Ishwardi upazila in Pabna on Saturday.

The detainees are Md Nahid, 39, son of late Lutfur Rahman hailed from Shaldah village under Sadar upazila of Kushtia, and Remon Sheikh, 28, son of late Akher Ali hailed from Kalishankarpur village of the same upazila. However, another drug trader Tuhin fled away from microbus during the drive.

According to police, acting on a tip-off a team of police led by Sub-Inspector (SI) Bikash Chakrabarty signalled a microbus to stop at the Lalon Shah Bridge. Later, 1500 pieces yaba pills recovered from microbus and held the two persons.

In a primary interrogation the two persons confess the yaba trafficking, said Bikash Chakrabarty.
