A mother named Sonali Begum (25) has given birth to a two-headed daughter in Magura. Dr. Masudul Haque operated on the body of the woman at Jahan Private Hospital in Magura on Tuesday afternoon. Sonali Begum is the wife of Palash Mollah, a farmer from Jagdal village in Magura Sadar.
Dr Masudul Haque said the baby was delivered through caesarean at 4 pm. At birth the baby cried and excreted normally. Currently the baby and mother are fine. The baby has two heads. However, other limbs, including hands and legs are as normal as any other newborn. The number of such babies born in the world is very low. The baby has been shifted to Magura 250-bed hospital.
Magura 250-bed pediatrician said. Jayant Kumar Kundu said, "It has been suggested to take the twin-headed child to Dhaka Medical College Hospital as it is a surgical procedure." Meanwhile, the child's father Palash Mollah of Jagdal village in Magura Sadar upazila said, 'His wife Sonali Begum was admitted to Jahan Private Hospital in the city.
When the doctor of the hospital performed a caesarean section at around 4 pm on Tuesday, the baby girl was born with two heads. Shortly after birth, the baby was shifted to Magura 250-bed hospital. The doctors working there advised to send the child to Dhaka for better treatment. However, due to lack of financial means, she is not able to take her newborn baby to Dhaka at present.
