Katakhali thana police arrested two fake police from Katakhali Bazar area in the early hours of Monday.
Arrested fake police were identified as Golam Rasul Ranak(35) son of Abul Kalam Azad of Alupatty area under Boalia police station and Ohidul Sheikh Opu(32) son of Joynal Abedin Sheikh of Sagarpara Bottola area under the same PS. Police also recovered a reflecting vest used by police and a cap from their possession.
RMP sources informed, identifying themselves as the members of PBI(Police Bureau of Investigation), Ranak and Opu were trying to stop the vehicles on the highway near Chowmohoni Bazar under Katakhali police station aiming at realising toll on September-4 night. During their night time patrol duty at 1-00 am ASI Joynal Abedin of Katakhali with his team watched that two persons, one wearing a reflecting vest of police and another wearing a field cap of police trying to stop various Tangon bound vehicles to realise the toll from the drivers of those.
Watching the patrol police they escaped in a motor-bike towards Kantkhali Bazar.
Police informed the incident to Motihar Crime dept. police Dy-Commissioner Monirul Islam and according to his directives Addnl Dy Police Commissioner Ekramul Haque with ASM Siddiqur Rahman, Officer-in-charge of Kantakhali PS, SI Jewel Rana and his team arrested fake police Golam Rasul Ranak and Ohidul Sheikh Opu from Tin Rastar More of Katakhali Bazar around 1-30 am on Monday and recovered a reflecting police vest and a field cap from their possession.
Arrested Ranak and Opu informed the police that by wearing a reflecting vest and the field cap they identified as the officials of PBI and trying to stop vehicles for checking the documents of those vehicles and thus to realise toll from the drivers. Legal action has been taken against the arrested fake police.
