Two mothers, who were evicted from their houses by their sons, returned home, with the intervention of Thakurgaon district administration. Few days ago, wife of late Khalilur Rahman of Kashalbari village in Akcha union of Thakurgaon Sadar upazila was evicted by her sons that spark criticism on the social media, sending a shock wave to the locality.

Such inhuman act of Amena Begum’s (76) sons prompted the district administration to come forward in aid of her.  On Thursday, Upazila Executive Officer Abdullah-al-Mamun went to Kashalbari village of Akcha Union and spoke with Amena Begum and her sons. Later, he handed Amena to her sons’ house.

At that time, the executive officer instructed her sons to take proper care of their mother and warned them that legal action will be taken against them if they evicted their mother again.

Abdullah-al-Mamun provided cloth, blankets and dry food to Amena Begum and also instructed the local UP chairman to keep a close watch on her.

Meanwhile, Faziran Begum (65), wife of late Bishu Mohammad of Ghanimaheshpur village in Thakurgaon Sadar Upazila, was evicted from her house 10 years ago by her son Fazlur Rahman and daughter-in-law Firoza Begum. The locals then made a house next to her son’s house, where she was living for the last 10 years.

However, members of the Ruhia Humanitarian Treasury Organisation on Wednesday found that the old woman was in crisis due to corona.

Then with the help of UNO they started the construction work of brick house and gave her some relief items on Wednesday afternoon. After seeing the situation, her son Fazlur Rahman was embarrassed and took his mother back home on Thursday morning.
