Bangladesh reported two deaths and it recorded 2,101 fresh Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours till 8am Monday, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The positivity rate was recorded at 15.20 percent after testing 13,820 samples across the country.
The country reported two deaths and 1,680 new Covid cases in the previous day.
The official tally showed that the virus killed 29,142 people and infected 19,67,274 so far since the outbreak in 2020, the statement mentioned.
The recovery count rose to 19,06,877 after another 179 patients were discharged from the dedicated hospitals during the past one day.
From the beginning of the pandemic, 96.93 percent Covid-19 patients recovered among the infected people while 1.48 percent died, the DGHS statistics showed.
Among the 29,142 fatalities, 12,810 occurred in Dhaka division, 5,863 in Chattogram, 2,142 in Rajshahi, 3,718 in Khulna, 983 in Barishal, 1,329 in Sylhet, 1,417 in Rangpur and 880 in Mymensingh divisions.
