A two-day upazila literature and book fair concluded in Melandah upazila of Jamalpur district on Friday.
Upazila Administration under the auspicious of Bangla Academy arranged the fair at Mirza Azam auditorium in Melandah upazila.
Vice-chancellor (VC) of Bangamata Sheikh Faizilatun Nesa Mujib Science and Technology University (BSFMSTU) Dr Kamrul Alam Khan inaugurated the fair as the chief guest on Thursday.
On the opening day, a discussion meeting was held with Additional Deputy Commissioner Md Moktar Hosasin in the chair. A group of Poets, litterateurs and rhymers of the seven upazilas in the district took part in the fair.
A total of seven book stalls were set up in the two-day fair.
President of Kobi Sangha Advocate Muhammad Baki Billah, Treasurer of BSFMSTU Abdul Mannan, its Registrar Faruk Hossain, Upazila Parishad (UP) Chairman Engineer Kamruzzaman, Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Selim Miah, Poets-- Abdul Hi Al Hadi, Sajjat Ansary, Mehedi Ikbal, Rajob Bakshi, Sheikh Fazal and Dhruba Joyti Gosh Mukul, Dramatist Asadullah Farazi and Director of Soikat Sahitya Sangsad Md Shah Jamal spoke, among others, at the meeting.
