Two-day child fair begins in Rajshahi

A two-day children fair began here today aiming to educate parents about proper grooming up of children alongside ensuring congenial atmosphere for them in the society.

District Information Office under its ‘Awareness buildup Communication for development of Child and Women Programme’ organized the fair on Mohanpur Upazila Parishad Compound premises in the district.

The two-day fair included opening rally, competition on different issues, cultural function and film show. With Assistant Commissioner (Land) Zahid Bin Kashem in the chair, Deputy Director of Local Government Division Parvej Raihan addressed the opening ceremony as chief guest while Deputy Director of District Information Office Nafeyala Nasrin, Upazila Vice-chairman Sanzida Rahman and Officer-in-Charge of Mohanpur Police Station Mustaque Ahmed spoke as special guests on the occasion.

The speakers unequivocally called for collective efforts of all government and non-government organizations concerned to protect child rights for their proper grooming. Protecting children from all sorts of violation, repression and deprivation is needed for building a healthy and knowledge-based future generation.

 Parvej Raihan said the present government under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is very much positive towards protecting the child rights and urged the field-level government and non-government organizations concerned to supplement the government endeavor.
