Two companies sued by BSTI, CAB in Ctg

Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution (BSTI) and Consumer Association of Bangladesh (CAB) have filed cases against two companies for not having unlicensed mosquito coils, packaging certificates and weighing machine verification certificates in a joint operation in the port city.

A case was filed under the BSTI-2018 Act against M/s Zaman Enterprise for producing BSTI unlicensed mosquito coils in a joint operation by BSTI and CAB in the large cemetery area of Baklia last Thursday.

In the same operation, a case has been filed in the Chittagong Metropolitan Magistrate's Court under the Weights and Measures Standards Act against another company called M/s Al Bari Food Products for not having a packaging certificate and weighing machine verification certificate.

BSTI Assistant Director Md Mostaq Ahmed said a case has been filed against the mosquito coil factory in the Chittagong Metropolitan Magistrate's Court. The company does not have a license. Such campaigns will continue in the public interest.

BSTI Assistant Director (CM) Mohammad Ashiquzzaman, Field Officer (CM) Mohammad Zillur Rahman, Inspector (MET) and CAB Chittagong Representative Mohammad Jane Alam were present on the occasion.
